Martin Markert

Graduated from Joop van den Ende Academy in Hamburg, Germany, and continued his studies of singing, acting and dance in Los Angeles, California. He won a prize at the youth competition “Jugend Musiziert” He appeared in numerous shows: Frank Wildhorn’s „Dracula“ ,„Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat“ (title role in Germany and Switzerland), the first „Best of Musical Gala“ (Stage Entertainment), the world premiere of „Ludwig² – the myth lives“ at Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein in Füssen, Germany, (alternate “shadow man” and Prince Otto of Bavaria), In another production he created the role of Prince Otto of Bavaria and also played the title role of the Bavarian fairy-tale King Ludwig II . Further: City of Angels“ (Peter Kingsley, u/s Stine, leading role). First Japan tour of „Elisabeth-the musical“, of Vereinigte Bühnen Vienna, then Theater des Westens, Berlin, Germany, Theater 11, Zurich, Switzerland (1st u/s Crown Prince Rudolf Crown Prince Rudolf), which he also played at the Theater des Westens in Berlin, Germany, Theatre 11 in Zurich, Switzerland and the 20th Anniversary European Tour. “Space Dream – the Original” (created title role, Space dream was the most successful Swiss musical). He starred as Jesus in Webber’s “Jesus Christ Superstar” in Bremerhaven, Germany and the Congress Center Rosenheim, Germany, was seen as Claude in “Hair” and playing Tony in “West Side Story” at the Opera House in Halle, Germany. Martin was happy to perform in the first staged production of „Elisabeth“ produced by Vereinigte Bühnen Vienna at the Culture Square – Shanghai, China ( Baron Hübner , Deathangels). He also took over  the role of The Death for certain performances and was touring Germany and Austria. Recently he played in The Captain from Köpenick – The Musical in Berlin and could be seen in the 21st Anniversary Tour of Rent afterwards.
